Assateague Trip

Saturday, May 20th 2017 TO Sunday, May 21st 2017

Location: Assateague Island (Berlin MD)

On May 20 and 21st , we we will have our Assateague National Seashore backcountry canoe trip. We will depart Saturday morning at 6:30am from St. Dunstans for the State Park then we will canoe about 4 miles up the bayside of Assateague Island to a backcountry camping site where we will spend the night. We will be able to walk across the island to swim in the ocean and hang out on the beach. On Sunday morning we will paddle back and we'll return home on Sunday afternoon.

This is a really cool trip because of the primitive camping site and beach access. Participants will also see a number of wild horses.
